Every job needs a set of tools. What I have noticed is that there seems to be a lot of tools to support children with Autism, and we are truly grateful for this, but there is not enough support for the parents. The proverbial oxygen mask in an airplane emergency applies here. The better you understand yourself, the better you are and the better the children do. I am here to be of support for other parents that need it with the tools that have proven effective for me. I am happy and honored to share them.
Besides the tools that I offer in my sessions, I felt the need to communicate what we have learned from our boys to further help the Autism community at large.
The blog posts you will find below are arranged from newest to oldest. If you just need a quick guide to get started on all this because you just found out your child is on the spectrum, I suggest you begin with the oldest post: The top 10 things I wish I knew when our kids first got diagnosed with Autism. Work your way up from there. Make sure to read the second blog post too: my personal grieving story. It seems to help those grieve their own story.
